Things can be slow to change, and sometimes a catalyst is needed. This post – dance agent for change – exists to galvanise debate within and outside of the dance sector and push things forward more quickly. Its being supported by Scottish Arts Council Lottery funding.

Who is Caroline Bowditch?

Caroline is a dancer, performance artist and choreographer who has worked extensively in the UK and Australia performing and as a facilitator for disability equality in the arts. Caroline first worked with Scottish Dance Theatre in Spring 2007, taking part in the creation and performance of choreographer Adam Benjamin’s ‘Angels of Incidence’ featuring four international guest performers each with a disability.

Why is Scottish Dance Theatre doing this?

Scottish Dance Theatre (SDT), part of Dundee Rep Theatre, creates and tours new dance theatre by both leading and emerging international choreographers, as well as work by their Artistic Director Janet Smith, one of the most respected and established Artistic Directors in Britain today. Their work pushes boundaries and expectations, and this post is part of that push.
